2009 Blue and Gold Banquet |

Pack 042 Cub Scouts and families celebrated the 98th Birthday of Scouting and America and Pack 042's 2nd Anniversary at this years Blue and Gold Banquet. Awards were presented to all Scouts along with the Adult volunteers, and a fabulous Spaghetti Dinner
with great entertainment and fun was had by all.

Pack 042 Cub Scouts along with Troop 042 Boy Scouts together participated in Saturday night mass at St Richard's Catholic Church (the two unit's chartering organization). The Scouting program was acknowledged as an integral part of the youth ministry of
St Richard's and the Scouts, with their presence displayed thanks back to the church an it's congregation for its support and assistance in providing a quality Scouting program for them.

RADZoo - Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Zoo Visit |

Pack 042 Lions on up to the Webelos combined their den meetings and enjoyed an evening of excitement as the RADZoo (Reptiles and Amphibians Discovery Zoo) came to visit and showed them up close turtles, lizards, snakes and even an alligator.

Herman the Hermit and his sidekick Cookie McWeaksauce trekked their way from the northern woods of Minnesota where they live as hermits, to teach Pack 042 Scouts about the Food Pyramid.
|
|
|
|
Scouts were treated to Canoe Sandwiches - aka Banana Boat Sandwiches (hot dog bun - peanut butter and a banana), Ants and Maggots on a Stick (celery sticks with peanut butter and raisins and yogurt covered raisins) and Sarsaparilla Snow Grog - aka Bovine Brew
(root beer floats). Herman and Cookie in their unpolished social skills sort of way told the boys of how good eating and a well balanced exercise program helps them survive in the wilderness of the Northern Minnesota woods. As quickly as they
arrived, Herman and Cookie mushed their way back to the backwoods up north. |
